PRINT "“jouer avec un abandon temeraire” by SCOTT TILGHMAN
Prints commemorating the 1984 RMC Football Team are being sold with all proceeds going to support the Duke Hall President’s Box. "Jouer avec un abandon téméraire" is a painting commissioned by Alumni Tom Shaw, class of ’86. It is part of a fundraising effort by the R-MC Alumni department. The original painting is 30” tall and 40”wide acrylic on canvas. The painting is from a stock photo from the Richmond Times Dispatch in 1984. It highlights an attempted punt by Marietta College. #27 Doug Baxter class of '85 is upended trying to block the punt. The team that year played with such reckless abandon they won their league. The old football field featured the motel dorms in the background with the fall leaves. Prints are 19” wide and 14.5” tall. The title is in French and translates “Playing with reckless abandon.”

The print is a signed limited edition copy of “jouer avec un abandon temeraire” – French for “playing with reckless abandon” by Scott Tilghman ’86.
  • The cost of the print is $475 plus tax.
